As of September 1, 2026, Courtenay Medical Associates will no longer operate.
A new clinic, Valley Cedars Medical Clinic, will open at the same location and continue to provide care to many of the patients currently receiving care at the clinic. The clinic website is HERE
The phone number, 250 334 4411, will remain unchanged.
What this means for patients

Dr. Thompson’s patients will transfer to Valley Cedars Medical Clinic and will continue to receive care with Dr. Thompson, supported by Dr Chow and Dr Neumann to the end of 2026. Dr Thompson returns to full practice in 2027.

Krista Maxwell’s patients will also transfer to Valley Cedars Medical Clinic.

A small number of Dr. Van Der Poll’s patients will transfer to new providers at Valley Cedars Medical Clinic. If you are one of these patients you will have been informed. Otherwise, regrettably you will be placed on the Health Connect Registry awaiting a new Physician or Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Gee will retire on August 31, 2026. His patients will be transferred to Dr. Neumann and Zoe Bosschaart, Family Nurse Practitioner, who will continue their care.

We have 3 new Family Nurse Practitioners joining Valley Cedars Medical Clinic - Sara Sorensen, Karlee Holm and Maja Stairs.. They will be accepting patients via the Health Connect Registry over time. Please do not call the clinic to ask to join their panel.

Dr Louis Warren will be joining us from Port Augusta Medical Clinic. His patients can start booking appointments after September 14. Please do not call before that date.
