Krista Maxwell NP
Krista is elated to join this talented group of physicians at Courtenay Medical
Associates. She grew up in Ottawa and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honours in 2005. Since then, she has traveled for her musician partner and has had the opportunity to work at multiple different tertiary Paediatric hospitals across the country, primarily focused in critical care and emergency department.
She knew she wanted to expand her knowledge and skill set incredibly early in her BScN studies and planned to eventually become a nurse practitioner. Krista completed her graduate studies and NP certification (all ages) with 7 children in tow – from Athabasca University in December 2020.
She initially began her advanced practice as an NP at BC Children’s Hospital in both the emergency department followed by her other passion and niche of Paediatric Cardiology. Krista moved to Courtenay in April 2024 where she started her family practice in the village of Cumberland as of July 2024.
She has enjoyed settling here and beginning to form roots with her husband, 9 children, and 2 pups. She loves everything outdoors and has enjoyed exploring this beautiful gift of land called Vancouver Island.

Zoe Bosschaart NP
Zoë Bosschaart is a Nurse Practitioner with nearly a decade of experience in preventative health and primary care. She is passionate about helping patients take a proactive approach to their health through disease prevention, early risk identification, lifestyle optimization, and evidence-informed care.
Throughout her career, Zoë has worked closely with patients to promote long-term wellness, manage chronic disease risk, and support healthy aging. She has a particular interest in functional health and believes in looking beyond symptoms to understand the whole person. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each patient's unique health goals.
Outside of work, Zoë enjoys hiking with her dog, Louie, spending time outdoors, and exploring Vancouver Island with her husband and daughter. She also loves spending time with her family by the ocean and values a lifestyle that is grounded, active, and connected to nature.
